What data does this site process?
No cookies, no consent banner, no profile of you — the complete list of what remains, dated August 31, 2026.
Almost none, and nothing that identifies you. CoverMandate sets no cookies, keeps its visit statistics cookieless and aggregate, and never sees your checker answers. What remains: short-lived delivery logs, and any email you choose to send the desk.
Why is there no cookie consent banner?
Because there is nothing to consent to. Consent banners exist for sites that store or read things on your device that they do not strictly need — advertising cookies, tracking identifiers. This site stores no such thing: its statistics tool, Umami, "does not use any cookies in the tracking code" (Umami documentation, checked on August 31, 2026), and it runs on servers we operate, so no analytics company receives your visit.
What do the visit statistics contain?
Totals, not people: pages viewed, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, and country. To count you once, Umami computes a code from technical properties of your visit plus an ingredient that changes monthly — a code with a shelf life, not a profile. Your IP address is used to derive the country and "is never stored" (Umami metric definitions, checked on August 31, 2026). We can see how many people read a page; we cannot see that you did.
What happens to my answers in the policy checker?
Nothing leaves your browser. All four questions and all three outcomes are already in the page; a small script only reveals the one that matches your answers. They are not transmitted, not stored, not visible to us — closing the tab erases them. One exception, saved only if you use it: the light/dark switch keeps your choice in your browser as the single word "light" or "dark" — a preference, not an identifier.
What does delivering the page process?
Your IP address, briefly. No page reaches a browser without one: the infrastructure serving this site uses it to route the response and to fend off abuse, and keeps short-lived technical request logs for troubleshooting. We do not use those logs to identify visitors, and nothing from them enters the statistics above.
What if I email elmar@friendlyfaces.nl?
Then we process your address and what you wrote for one purpose: handling your message — usually a correction, for which the report-an-error page is faster. No mailing list, no sharing, no profile.
What are my rights, and who is responsible?
Responsible for all of the above — the "controller", in GDPR terms — is Friendly Faces, the Dutch company publishing this site; its registered details are on the who-we-are page. EU law lets you ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, and have it erased (Articles 15–17 GDPR, checked on August 31, 2026); send any such request to elmar@friendlyfaces.nl. For the statistics, the honest answer will be that we cannot find you in them. What we can find, and delete, is email you sent us.
What about third parties — and future changes?
There are none to name: no embedded videos, no social-media buttons, no advertising pixels; even the fonts are served by this site itself, not by a font network. If that ever changes — a new tool, a cookie, an embed — this page will say so, with the date. This description matches the site as it runs on August 31, 2026.
