Deductible, refunds and certificate delivery
- Excess / deductible
The health conditions AVB-AR-365/2025 state no deductible or excess, and the IPID none either. The only deductible clause in the document set sits in the travel-liability conditions and applies 'Where separately agreed' (AHB-Reise § 6.4). Document set read August 31, 2026.
- Refund if the visa is refused
Advertised, not contracted. The product page states 'Premium refund in case of non-entry due to illness or visa refusal' and 'Meets official requirements, or money back' (read August 31, 2026), but neither the IPID nor the consumer information (both dated 15.01.2025) states any condition, fee, deadline or proof requirement for it — our read of the full conditions, including AVB-AR-365/2025 §§ 3, 7, 8 and 15 and the customer information, found no such clause. The only published exit is the revocation right: 'You can revoke your contractual declaration in writing (e.g., letter, fax, email) without giving reasons within 14 days after conclusion of the contract.'
source: Product page dr-walter.com/en/insurances/provisit-visum/, section 'Advantages'; consumer information, 'Information on the right of revocation' — both read 2026-08-31, matching this site's refunds comparison of the same day
- Certificate delivery
The product page states 'Instant insurance confirmation via email' and 'You will immediately receive your insurance certificate.' (read August 31, 2026). The conditions do not describe a visa certificate; the IPID mentions 'your insurance certificate' only as the carrier of the cover dates. That the certificate satisfies a consulate is a product-page claim, not a contract term.
- Notes
Risk carrier: the IPID names 'Company: Würzburger Versicherungs-AG, Germany'; DR-WALTER GmbH manages the contract and is the selling brand. One document set (15.01.2025) covers PROVISIT-VISUM, -GRUPPE and -MULTIPASS; VISUM specifics sit in BB-AR 2019: 'The maximum term of the insurance is 180 days.' and, derogating from AVB § 1.6, 'PROVISIT-VISUM offers insurance coverage without age limit.' Not found 1 — amount: no overall sum insured for medical costs appears anywhere in the conditions or the IPID; the benefit clauses reimburse medically necessary costs with item caps only (mortal remains up to € 30,000, German fee-schedule multipliers for treatment in Germany), and the product page's 'Health insurance unlimited coverage' is a marketing line, not a contract term. Not stated is not the same as not covered. Not found 2 — duration: no clause requires the policy to span the whole stay; the contract 'is valid for the duration stipulated in the insurance policy, but no longer than 365 days' (§ 3.2), capped at 180 days for VISUM, and the IPID ends cover 'with the end of the stay abroad, at the latest on the date indicated on the insurance certificate'. The buyer sets the dates. Territory caveat: § 1.4 b) names EU countries plus Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and four microstates — every Schengen state falls inside that area — but the words Schengen and visa appear in neither the conditions nor the IPID; only the product page uses them. The IPID also excludes 'the home country of the insured person or in the country in which the insured person is habitually resident'. Corroboration for the medical cells, § 1.2: 'Insured events are also return transports that are medically necessary or were ordered by a physician as well as death.' Purchase timing, § 3.1 b): 'For travels to Germany, the insurance contract can also be concluded within 10 days after the insured person has entered Germany.' § 7.2 extends the benefit period by up to 90 days when return is medically impossible. All quotes as printed, including 'Vatikan City' (the IPID spells 'Vatican City'). Documents read August 31, 2026 via DR-WALTER's document viewer; no PDF download is offered.

Questions about DR-WALTER PROVISIT-VISUM
Does the PROVISIT-VISUM policy document state the EUR 30,000 minimum?
No. Neither AVB-AR-365/2025 nor the IPID (both dated 15.01.2025, read August 31, 2026) prints an overall sum insured for medical costs; only item caps appear, such as € 30,000 for transport of mortal remains. The product page advertises 'Health insurance unlimited coverage' — a marketing line, not a contract term.
Is PROVISIT-VISUM valid in every Schengen state?
The conditions cover 'EU countries as well as Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatikan City' (AVB-AR-365/2025 § 1.4 b), as printed) — an area that contains every Schengen state. The word Schengen itself appears in neither the conditions nor the IPID, read August 31, 2026.
Does PROVISIT-VISUM refund the premium if the visa is refused?
The product page advertises 'Premium refund in case of non-entry due to illness or visa refusal', but neither the IPID nor the consumer information (both 15.01.2025, read August 31, 2026) states a condition, fee, deadline or proof requirement for it. What the documents do publish is the 14-day revocation right after conclusion of the contract.
Does PROVISIT-VISUM carry a deductible?
Not in the health cover: AVB-AR-365/2025 and the IPID state none (read August 31, 2026). The one deductible clause in the document set sits in the travel-liability conditions and applies only 'Where separately agreed' (AHB-Reise § 6.4).
