Deductible, refunds and certificate delivery

Excess / deductible

No excess on the Article 15 covers: the Benefit Table lists 'No' for emergency medical expenses, repatriation and repatriation of remains; the only excess shown is EUR 30 on communication costs. Separately, any reimbursement by bank transfer outside the EU incurs a EUR 20 charge per transfer (GTC July 2026, p. 13 and §8.9 p. 31, read 2026-08-31).

Refund if the visa is refused

The GTC name visa refusal as a refund ground: 'in the event that you are unable to obtain a visa approval', AXA 'will fully refund your premium' minus transaction, money-transfer and currency-exchange costs, against 'an official document from the rightful authority confirming the refusal of your visa' (§8.7, p. 30, read 2026-08-31). AXA's refund page adds: request before cover starts, no prior claims, and refunds 'typically take 5-10 business days after document approval' (read 2026-08-31).

Certificate delivery

The GTC define the certificate as the document 'you receive after taking out the insurance' and 'need to present … to prove your medical cost insurance when applying for a SCHENGEN VISA' (p. 6, read 2026-08-31). The product page claims: 'Upon subscription, you instantly receive a personalized insurance certificate' (read 2026-08-31). Delivery speed is AXA's own claim; we read documents and did not buy a policy.

Notes

Sold as 'Multi Trip': the product page is headed 'Annual Multi-Trip Europe Travel Cover' and the policy documents are titled 'AXA SCHENGEN « Annual »' — one product; the page links these documents (both read 2026-08-31). Underwriter: Inter Partner Assistance SA, Belgian branch, part of the AXA Group (GTC p. 11, §3.4). Eligibility: the country of residence 'cannot be the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA)' nor a sanctioned country (p. 10, §3.3), and cover never applies inside the country of residence (p. 29, §8.1). A trip 'that had already begun when you purchased this insurance will not be covered' (p. 8, 'Trip'). On the 90-day cap AXA itself warns: 'This does not imply that your visa automatically will be granted for the same duration' (p. 8, 'Maximum trip duration'). The policy is not renewed automatically; non-EU nationals unable to return home may renew exceptionally for at most six months (p. 29, §8.2–8.4). The 2-page IPID linked from the product page confirms 'up to €100,000 per insured' and lists visa non-approval among the refund grounds (read 2026-08-31).

Questions about AXA Schengen Multi Trip

Does AXA Schengen Multi Trip meet the EUR 30,000 minimum for a Schengen visa?

The Benefit Table states 'Up to €100,000' for emergency medical expenses, with no excess (General Terms & Conditions July 2026, p. 13, read August 31, 2026) — above the EUR 30,000 minimum of Article 15(3) of the Visa Code.

How does an annual multi-trip policy satisfy the 'entire duration of stay' requirement?

Per trip. The General Terms & Conditions call it 'a multiple trip contract, intended to cover several trips' within a one-year cover period, each single journey 'limited by us to a maximum of 90 consecutive days' (p. 29, read August 31, 2026). For a multiple-entry visa, Article 15(2) asks for insurance 'covering the period of their first intended visit' plus a signed declaration for later stays — a stay longer than 90 days would exceed what this policy states.

Does AXA refund the Multi Trip premium if the visa is refused?

Yes — §8.7 of the General Terms & Conditions names visa non-approval as a refund ground: AXA 'will fully refund your premium', minus transaction, money-transfer and currency-exchange costs, against 'an official document from the rightful authority confirming the refusal of your visa' (p. 30, read August 31, 2026). AXA's refund page adds: submit before cover starts, with no prior claims (read August 31, 2026).

Can US or UK residents buy AXA Schengen Multi Trip?

No. The eligibility section states the country of residence 'cannot be the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA)' (General Terms & Conditions July 2026, p. 10, read August 31, 2026).
