Deductible, refunds and certificate delivery

Excess / deductible

The GTC and IPID state no excess or deductible on any cover; the product page advertises 'No excess' (read August 30, 2026). The stated sublimits are dental treatment CHF 1,000 and search and rescue CHF 10,000 (GTC Cover summary, p. 1). Claims are reimbursement-based: 'We do not issue guarantee of payment nor make advance cash payments' (GTC p. 8). Documents read August 31, 2026.

Refund if the visa is refused

The GTC names refused entry as a reimbursement ground: with 'official proof (embassy, immigration police, municipality) in written form that entry into a country of the Schengen area was not granted, the premium is reimbursed', against submission of the insurance policy (GTC p. 11, read August 31, 2026). That clause states no fee, percentage deduction or deadline. The separate 14-day right of revocation is unavailable if a claim was made or the contract duration is under 30 days (GTC p. 3; IPID p. 2).

source: GTC 'General provisions — Withdrawal from the insurance contract if entry into the Schengen area is refused', p. 11

Certificate delivery

The contract 'consists of three parts', the third being the 'Certificate of insurance for Schengen Visa application' (GTC 'What this insurance contract includes', p. 3, read August 31, 2026). The product page states the certificate is sent together with the policy and the GTC on purchase and is 'always issued in English' (read August 30, 2026).

Notes

Variant: Allianz sells different Schengen-visa products per country site; this row verifies the one variant found with a complete public EN policy wording — Secure Health, 'Schengen travel insurance, edition 12.2025', sold on Allianz Travel's Swiss site for visits to Switzerland and the Schengen states, underwritten by AWP P&C S.A., Saint-Ouen (Paris), Wallisellen Branch (GTC p. 3). Other Allianz country variants are not covered by this row. Eligibility (GTC p. 11): primary residence outside the Schengen area and 'have not reached the age of 81'; the order and full premium may follow arrival by up to five days (p. 7). Amount: the wording fixes no insured sum — the Cover summary defers to the individual policy, and the 11.2025 product sheet offers sums insured of CHF 30'000, CHF 50'000 or CHF 100'000, applied per incident. The sums are in Swiss francs, not euro; whether CHF 30'000 meets Article 15(3)'s EUR 30,000 depends on the exchange rate applied at assessment. Territory: Schengen area only, no extension to non-Schengen neighbours, with a sanctions carve-out (GTC p. 11; IPID p. 1); the IPID phrases validity narrower ('the country(ies) of destination within the Schengen area') than the GTC. Duration: the Article 15(3) phrase 'entire duration of the intended stay' does not appear; cover runs on the policy's start and end dates, ends at the latest on 'Day 90 of the trip', 'applies for a specific trip and cannot be renewed', and extends automatically if return travel is delayed by a covered reason (all p. 7). Travelling in order to receive medical treatment voids reimbursement (p. 11). Drafting slip in the 12.2025 edition: the definitions entry 'Medical escort' (p. 5) carries a vehicle-breakdown definition. All documents read August 30-31, 2026.

Questions about Allianz Travel (Schengen)

Which Allianz product does this verification cover?

Secure Health, the product Allianz Travel's Swiss site sells as 'Schengen travel insurance' (GTC edition 12.2025; insurer AWP P&C S.A., Saint-Ouen (Paris), Wallisellen Branch). It was chosen because it is the Allianz Travel variant with a complete public English policy wording; Allianz sells different Schengen-visa products per country site, and those are not covered by this row. Documents read August 30-31, 2026.

Does Allianz Secure Health state the EUR 30,000 minimum for a Schengen visa?

Not as a fixed sum in the wording. The GTC's Cover summary lists the medical maximum as 'in accordance with insurance policy' (p. 1, edition 12.2025, read August 31, 2026); the buyer selects a sum insured of CHF 30'000, CHF 50'000 or CHF 100'000 per the 11.2025 product sheet. Those sums are in Swiss francs; whether CHF 30'000 meets the EUR 30,000 minimum of Article 15(3) of Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 depends on the exchange rate applied on the day of assessment.

Does Allianz refund the Secure Health premium if the Schengen visa is refused?

The GTC states a reimbursement ground for refused entry: with 'official proof (embassy, immigration police, municipality) in written form that entry into a country of the Schengen area was not granted, the premium is reimbursed' (General provisions, p. 11, edition 12.2025, read August 31, 2026). That clause states no fee, percentage deduction or deadline. The separate 14-day right of revocation is unavailable if a claim was made or the contract runs shorter than 30 days (GTC p. 3; IPID p. 2).

Where and for how long is Allianz Secure Health valid?

'The insurance applies within the Schengen area' (GTC General provisions, p. 11, edition 12.2025, read August 31, 2026), covering 'losses that occur within the Schengen area' (p. 7), with no extension to non-Schengen neighbours. Cover runs on the start and end dates in the insurance policy, ends at the latest on 'Day 90 of the trip', and the contract 'applies for a specific trip and cannot be renewed' (p. 7).
